What age are we living in....Nanotech maybe. Computers have started healing themselves. They have their own Hospital sitting right inside their processor. Computer Heal Thyself 'Our group of research collaborators at Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley has taken a new tack, by accepting that computer failure and human operator error are facts of life. Rather than trying to eliminate computer crashes--probably an impossible task--our team concentrates on designing systems that recover rapidly when mishaps do occur. We call our approach recovery-oriented computing (ROC). '
The other day i took a blogging archetype test and here is what they have to say You are a Metafilter . You are a reliable source of constantly updated cool and ridiculous links. Keep 'em coming. Take the What Blogging Archetype Are You test at GAZM.org
And if you want to see how america treats its prisoners of wars just listen to Shah Mohammad who is a pakistani and is back from Guantanomo Bay cuba.
as you all must know(and if you dont u will now) that i have my most difficult exam in the five years of medical school coming in about a weeks time and Medicine is proving to be more difficult than i thought. All my plans are going nowhere as far as i can see. It is so much to cover in so little a time. All these critters in microbiology books and drugs for them in Pharmacology........ no sane man can ever memorize everything they say. Yet i see some people around me who never seem to take a break, even for a little while and from break i remember this is supposed to be my dinner break and i am using it up in munching words. I should go and feed my poor soul.
Thanks for the very nice intro Ozzy.but i think i have learned all this from good friends here at Aga Khan.specially ppl like you.
I have long been waiting for it as it is one of the few sci-fi movies that suite my taste. Sequel to Matrix has been released and here is what Roger Ebert has to say "...As we learned in "The Matrix," the Machines need human bodies, millions and millions of them, for their ability to generate electricity. In an astonishing sequence, we saw countless bodies locked in pods around central cores that extended out of sight above and below. The Matrix is the virtual reality that provides the minds of these sleepers with the illusion that they are active and productive. Questions arise, such as, is there no more efficient way to generate power? And why give the humans dreams when they would generate just as much energy if comatose? And why create such a complex virtual world for each and every one of them, when they could all be given the same illusion and be none the wiser? Why is each dreamer himself or herself, occupying the same body in virtual reality as the one asleep in...
Finally the big burden of taking the OSCE is over.it didnt go as i expected it to go but anyways.May Allah help us all.Ameen.They had some very stupid things for us to do. Idont know if it is oriented towards checking our knowledge. Anyhow i advised a TB patient(who was smiling on my face coz he was not a real patient) on his medication and while doing that i messed up.but the beginning was even worst.my firat encounter in this very important exam was with a person who is not a sort i relish to work with. Then my respiratory exam was the worst i have ever done. that cardiac patient was beyond our comprehension.i doubt that any one other than waheed khan judged it right.and how can we if we dont see such patients on the wards. next up the anemia patient was ok.then spleen was pretty good.but the guy with thte squint gaveevryone a lot of trouble. and so on it was trouble all the way. But i still hope to find Allah's help.
Thinking about future is cumbersome business. We always think What future holds in store for us? Inspite of all our efforts to uncover future, before time does so, it remains a mistery. A well preserved a nd maintained.it s like a secret map to solmon mines that is is discovered every now and then by an adventurer but atill solomon's glory is hidden deep under somewhere.its like a secret treasure, hunted for by everyone but still bound to be covered by deep dust of time. it is something that keeps on revealing itself as time rolls on but never before. when we think of future we are reminded that it is uncertain. What if i become a surgeon or what if i become a physician and so on...Future is a gameof chance and the odds are 50:50. Future is an entity joined and interwined with another entity knwn as HOPE.and for me i use he terms interchangeably.hope for futrre ad future has hope kinda stuff.we hope to become good doctors we hope to become excellent doctors we hope to become doct...
The political directives of islam: Instead of extracting a political system from the Quran and Sunnah which, of course, does not exist, dedicated efforts should be made by muslim scholars to understand the political law of islam. The task of formulating a system on its basis should be left to political scientists and to those who understand the intricacies of this field....p.4" Monthly Renaissance
Today's paper had a very good article on muslim awakening in the field of WWW in the wake of 9/11 incident. "America's desperate attempts to reestablish itself as the world's strongest nation in the wake of air strikes on its financial and defence/security monuments on that fateful day in September, have reached an apex. The pretence maintained through eyewash statements to cover up tyrannical acts, too, is no more. There is blatant disregard for International Conventions, Human Rights Principles and the Rule of Law be damned. In fact, he who dareth to stand for justice will pay a price! Media buy-in, too, is now a stale rhetoric, not even worth listening to. Inferior nations must know that there is no such thing as a biased media because there is none other than the American point of view. It is the perfect scenario for all colonization schemes to succeed and for the world assets to be poured into the treasury at home (and who but a true Brit can appreciate that id...
