Tsunami.    Whenever human race suffers it unites. The boundries of race, colour, creed, religion and development, which otherwise, divide this miniscule planet blur into the empathy and courage of the few rescuers. I call this the pinnacle of our creation. Just today i was witnessing over my television screen a tragedy beyond explanation. Where there were thousands seen suffering many could be seen lending a helping hand to all those who have been left stranded by nature's temper tantrum. Teams from as far away as Argentina and Brazil have arrived to the scenes of epic epicenters.    All this gives me courage and strength against all adversities and reminds me that as a doctor my profession is much more sacred than any other. Thus i have to do my duty with utmost dignity and dedication. Infact all doctors are expected to do so.    Helping someone when he needs yiour help is a fun ride few can enjoy.
Lots of things not working out as the way they should. Dr. Vaziri is making me study and that i admit is the toughest job on the face of this earth. I have to wake up at 6 in the morning and work till 6 in the evening and then have to read papers that i least understand. Now tell me who works that hard during the elective period. I remember Murtaza doing absolutely nothing the whle time and Usman sitting in his home like a lazy ass. Then again i complain more than i suffer.
I can't wait for December to end and January to pass in a flash, because they are going to provide us free internet access from february 2005. I can't wait that long simply can't.
The drive to write seems to be dying in me. This thought appears so very often now just because i have not written a worthwhile piece of blog for over a month now. I have all the time on earth to read and write yet i shy away from every opportunity. Sad, isn't it?    Today its 25th December. The birthday of the founder of this sick nation and the birthday of Jesus(as). I would rather spend my day reading other blogs where many 'intellectuals' will try to enlighten with their writing skills on the importance oof this day. I dont feel like writing anything write now.
What wrong have they done. Why are they being punished in Iraq?
Choose South Asia'a Greatest leader.    Although the list is incomplete and absurd yet there are a few names worth considering. give it a try yourself here Hat tip Shehzad..
BitTorrent site raided Most of my hostellite friends will find this news very upsetting. Finnish police have raided a famous bit torrent weebsite and have brought it down. Along came some 30 moderators. The rounding up mission was construed because these networks are used to share files that have been illegally copied. Screw all these authorities. Link Via Metafilter

Kara FIlm Festival

Happened to drop by 4th Kara Film Festival this Friday along with the rest of the bunch. two movies were aired in the prime time that day. The first one was from Iran and not interesting at all. Enough said about this one we move to the second movie of the night. This movie came all the way from Germany. Started rather ordinarily but turned into an interesting watch fifteen minutes into the movie. It dealt with the immediate post cold war era in Germany when the wall had fallen and communism disappeared into the overwhelming wave of capitalism thus bewildering many in the process. The movie deals with the change at a more personal level and in a very delicate way. Tells us that both systems of governance are rather false and try to keep the people in a false hope of progress and security. All in all it was a movie worth the money we paid for.
What is the world coming to?
I have been under attack of a flu epidemic in the region. This is the worst disease to have. Really cuts every neuron in the brain so that you are left with nothing but confusion and restlessness. On top of all this is the compunding effect of undone work.
You can visit a nice blog on proceedings of Kara film fest 2004. The writer elaborates on the events of the day, though in a very brief manner.
Kara Film Festival.    The Kara Film Festival is in the town and this time around I will not miss it. Me and Hussain have made a firm resolve that we will not miss the festival this time. You can visit the official site for the schedule and choose the best day that suites you.
The greatest want of the world is the want of men- men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.    I think Waheed is one of those men.
