Political Gimmickry Politics is a tedious job in developing countries...Well I suppose everywhere. A Prime minister stepped down and made way for another who will prepare grounds for yet another. I think these days GHQ is spending way more time than it used to spend on chalking out political scenarios. Don't and I mean it don't read this statement with a slightest of idea that GHQ was any less intrusive before. Its just that they have nothing else at their hands. Wars they know they can't fight. Work honestly they know they can't so they do whatever they are best at; what every mentally unemployed entity does_waste others time and provide hurdles in their progress. I guess we must do away with our army altogether and turn them into a political party( its not me saying this for the first time). They are all a burden on the national resources. Driving stipends for something they don't do_defend homeland. I don't blame them for that either, they simply ca...
Riddles of current politics. Kunwar Idris has produced an interesting article in today's edition of Dawn. More or less explains much about our politics ands the way they are going. Factually speaking, the president's constitutional powers are restricted to a few key appointments and dissolution of the National Assembly in a situation where either the prime minister loses its majority support or when "the government of the federation cannot be carried on in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and an appeal to the electorate is necessary". Musharraf's own scheme of politics has doomed his "enlightened moderation". It remains an empty rhetoric. The tide of extremism continues to rise to hurt the people and the economy. The blame for instability and violence lies where it belongs - the founders of the regime. It admits of no alibi. Jamali thus has to sign his own death warrant to be born again as a leader in his own right ceasing to be a prox...
Inventor of the internet.    He is too young, he is too unostentatious, he is too humble, he is too modest and he is too good. We got all that he conceived for free because he didn't try to patent his idea (or atleast thats what they say every where in the news and papers about him). Finally he has been rewarded for his good deed. He has been awarded the first millennium Technology Prize a one million euro cash award recognizing his revolutionary contribution to humanity's ability to communicate. Seriously if it were not for him and all those who helped develop the internet, earth would have been a much loner place to live in. I can't imagine, for a split second, to live without internet. Not only at the communication level but also at the level of sharing of information across borders and sometimes as a tool to building confidence and bridging differences between two persons, two groups, two societies, two nations and now two civilizations; internet has always play...

Imran has been increasingly busy in building his political career and is not able to give enough time to Jamima who is almost half his age. Well the divorce has been settled amicably and the two sons are to remain with Jamima in London for their education. Judiciary in Islam An interesting and informative article on Islamonline :     "The authorities who deal with legal rulings are first the judges, then the central police, the local police, the appellate authority, the local administrator, and then the market controller." Complicated yet comprehensive system of judiciary aimed at providing with justice righ t at the doorstep of every citizen of the state is a pre-requisite of an Islamic Govt.
