March 23, 2008

Today is yet another March 23, 2008 in the history of our nation. The ordinary man is busy in making his ends meet while the rest are busy either making or analyzing the future of our country. Like always before the future of our nation is uncertain and there is a lot of debate on what is to come for us. But in the real deal of the things does this matter at all? I don't think so. All that matters is the continuity of the food chain for the common man. If it stays steady then the common man will never come on streets for any elitist ideologies.

Matched Finally!

I have finally been able to match for a post graduate training position here. It has been a long winding road with a seemingly good end. I have to thank Allah for all His infinite mercy. Thank you for all the valuable prayers. My 'Where did I match?" question will be answered soon enough now. Infact these statistics will be announced on March 20th at 12 noon EST. I will have to take quick note and try and get my contract delivered at my present address. If this happens then my process will be expediated and help me secure a visa eventually. Residency Training will mean a huge change in my life and quite a welcome change after a long long time. Some of my friends have not been able to secure a position in the match. I hope and pray that tomorrow brings good news for them too. This process is so uncertain that the little the better and the shorter the time period the better. I think it is more a test of emotional and psychological endurance than actual meaningful testing o...

HaloScan

I have been using Halo Scan for commenting and trackbacks. I have recently shifted to Blogger's new format and had to re-install Halo Scan into my template. The new template from Blogger is working almost flawlessly. But the loading of the page has become very slow. And most of the time it is the Halo Scan servers that are the culprit. When i started with the new template i also opted for Halo Scan's new feature of post rating. I have done away with it for the time being but the page loading is still very slow. It must be a big hassle for any visitor trying to view the blog using a slower connection. I am working towards remedying the problem and if it can be solved by getting rid of Halo Scan then i will do that too. Technorati Tags: Halo Scan , Blogger , Template

India Murders Pakistani Prisoner

Pakistan released an Indian spy who had been convicted for his spying missions in the country. Our minister stood with him hand in hand, elated with success and pride dripping from his face. He thought he had done a job that will make him a place in the midst of those who are known for their humanitarian work. His gesture is OK. It is neither good nor bad. A spent weapon is worth getting rid of. But it becomes all the more difficult when this same spent weapon spits malice for the very people who brought him freedom. He doesn't waste any time in telling his nation that he has been a hero who kept mum while he was with the enemy. I think he needed to do this to ward off the suspicions of his own countrymen. But this has turned into a whole lot of embarrassment for Burni who thought he had championed the cause of humanity by winning Singh's freedom. The Indians were quick to thank us. They thanked us in no uncertain terms by brutally torturing and then killing in cold ...

At Sportingo

I have been a Sportingo follower for the past 2 years at least. All that time i had been meaning to write and be published at that portal but could not find enough momentum to get the work done. There were ideas floating here and there but nothing concrete could set in. But things have changed and i have my first work appearing on the website. It is about the decline of hockey in Pakistan. My initial draft was around 1200 words and talked about the topic in some detail but it was sent back for review and trimming down. After trimming and a very dedicated review by the editors the article is now on the website. I must remark that the team at sportingo has been very helpful all through the process and their attitude has really motivated me to write more. I plan to do so soon. Mean while you can read my article here or alternatively browse to more sports section and read it from there. Technorati Tags: Sportingo , Sports , Pakistan , Hockey

I am lucky to have been counted in . I have also taken up writing on the same portal. I go by the same nick, MK. Technorati Tags: TPS , The Pakistani Spectator , Interview , Blogosphere
