Failure    Just tried to blog in urdu but didn't work. I could type well in wBloggar but when published the whole post was one collection of questions mark. As if staring at me and asking 'what have you done?'
Urdu    As of today I have acquired the ability to write Urdu in my documents. This is a very welcome and timely ability. We are in the process of designing a questionnaire for our study in primary health care rotation. I needed to be able to write Urdu version of the questions in the same document as had english version and it was, otherwise, not possible without a suitable Urdu processor. Being extremely lazy, that I am, I couldn't make an effort to acquire one thus this ability, that comes at minimal effort and at no real added cost, is a welcome development, as far as I am concerned.    The day is not far away, dear readers, whence this blog will become bilingual. I have really not been putting much effort into learning how to post in Urdu. The reason being that I want this blog to be bilingual for English and Punjabi and not English and Urdu. I guess that requires a little extra effort at my part and that I am not ready to put in, atleast for no...

Safety Update

While sitting in the Learning Resource Center of my university i came across a very interesting safety update. the update was pasted on one of the notice boards nearby and read 'AKU Emergencies Colour Code' . three columns one for the type of emergency the second and third for the visual colour description. Almost ten different type of emergencies with their designated colours were listed. And guess what the update was... a black and white photostat.
So speaks the lover...    If I haven't been posting a lot lately this doesn't mean that I haven't been reading anything too. Infact I must take time to point you to a very beautiful piece of writing yet again by Usman . This is a must read.
I have been a little busy of late. Been to Islamabad and enjoyed the marvelous weather over there, for a very short while that I was there. Applied for my visa too in the meanwhile. I hope to be awarded one by the first of the next month if everything goes as planned and hoped.    One thing that I have so realized in this short trip of mine is the fact that this place is worst than anywhere could be. One doesn't realize the misery until he gets an outside perspective to hold onto. For the past five odd months I have been bogged down by excessive work and failures at multiple points and more. Hiccups see no end! Even then there was little realization on my part that I needed to get a break from these needless stresses. Most certainly pain has its own way of keeping you addicted to it. I had become an addict. Simple and plain. I still am.    For some odd reason Hasan Bin Saba and his dramatic heaven have occupied my mind since yesterday. The idea ke...
Gmail Hacked!    I told you these Afghans are trouble makers. They did it again and they have done it big time this time. Gmail has been hacked and whenever I type gmail to open the account it points towards an afghan news page Afghan online .
More Scam.    As if my post yesterday wasn't enough to embarrass many on the parliamentary floor that we have to read this news today. Musharraf's minister for religious affairs is a fake Doctor too! Read for details South Asia Tribune
Scam Alert!    How many members of the parliament are public burglars? My answer, more than a few. How many dictators usurp power in broad daylight? My answer a few. How many doctors are an embarrassment for their community? My answer, less than few and the gentleman I am going to tell you about has the honour of being one of those very few. He holds no less than the portfolio of the health minister in the provincial government of Punjab. Our very own minister has his license revoked for gross misconduct and criminal negligence in Nebraska. He is also responsible for a massive outbreak of Hepatitis C in the aforementioned state. You can reach the ultimate proof of_ the visual proof over the page at The South Asia Tribune . Hat tip to Murtaza and thanx to Dr. Vaziri; both I hold dear to my heart.
Pakistan tour India.    Pakistan take on the resilient Indians from today in Mohali India. The expectations are high on both sides of the border. The war is on! Ashes cup of the subcontinent is up for the grabs. Spectators are looking for a place in the stadium and if some are unlucky as myself they stick to the TV screens, wherever they can find one. For almost 40 days the pace of day to day life in either country will be set by the lucky 11 playing on the field for their side. For these forty days I will be asleep! Seriously what a waste of time.
What is a memory but an imprint- a Mindprint- to flickering sillhoettes? What is truth but your story, gurgling Along, rushing and weaving to nothing But a sigh at the roots of a Tree? With thanx to Hannah .
