Mobilink rounded

I was just wondering about my cellular network service vendor's latest offer for its valued customers. They are offering reduced call rates for their customers. Since Mobilink is the most expensive network out there they must be loosing their customer base and that is precisely why they have reduced their call rates. The revised call rates are nothing but a far cry from giving relief to their customers, which this company never has on its agenda, by the way.
According to the new call rates all on network calls are charged at a rate of Rs. 2.75/min. However this tag is exclusive of any taxes. Adding taxes at the rate of 15% makes this charge Rs. 3.17/min. Now the company felt over generous and provided added benefit to its already bestowed customers. It offered to further subsidize call rates for 3 customer specified numbers. Now any customer can call any three mobilink numbers at reduced rates of Rs. 2.25/min. When we add the taxes at the above rate the actual charge comes out to be Rs. 2.60/min. So for these three numbers the caller saves a theoretic Rs. 0.57/min. But you know Mobilink they are the biggest money looters telephony has seen in this country. The cunning that they are they introduced a surcharge of Rs. 25 per choice of such numbers, which is payable once.
When we do the mathematics involved in these figures right, such as I did last night, we find out that this saving of Rs. 0.57/min is only affective after you have called that particular number for 44 minutes. Confused? Let me clarify. Since we are paying Rs.25 per number as one time charge for this service that means we actually start profiting from this scheme when we have used up the Rs.25. Now if we save Rs. 0.57/min, as calculated above, we need to have called the number for no less than 44 minutes to spend this amount of Rs.25. Still confused.....!!!! Just believe my skills and believe that we are being fooled.
When we choose 3 numbers we end up paying them Rs. 75 for a deal which we are going to loose. I mean there are very few numbers that I would be calling for that long. So the time involved for users like myself makes this scheme more of a scam.

Learning Arduino 1

This holiday season I decided to gift myself some basic electrical components in the form of a Arduino UNO set from Elegoo. I have always had a desire to tinker with electronics and in gifting myself this basic set I am now starting on a journey to quench my inner electrical workman's thirst. I hope to develop this hobby as I move forward and will, from time to time, post about it here on the blog. As the journey moves forward I am sure to run into trouble and issues. But as they say you can not master anything without first being a fool at it, so I have decided to remain a fool at it until I am a little good at it. To start with, I do possess some elementary knowledge in electronics and electronic circuits. I intend to further my knowledge using the world wide web and following some very useful video channels on youtube. I will first start with some very basic projects to familiarize myself with Arduino and basic electronic circuits and techniques such as soldering. Then graduall...

Gluttony

There has been a recurring thought in my mind over the past many many months.  Every time I sit on the table to eat food with my  family  I thank God for giving me this opportunity to sit down and enjoy one of the basic needs of living beings.  Apart from the ability to sit down and eat with family I also do enjoy the absolute variety of tastes that are reaching my taste buds.  It is indeed a fact that our table is almost always stuffed with different  flavours by virtue of quite intricately cooked foods with lots of love.

XBOX ONE controller

I have been using the new xbox for many days now. The most important part of the console is obviously it's controller as this is the part we interact with most. In comparison to the xbox 360 controller the build quality of this controller seems slightly compromised. There is little counter weight in the wings of this controller and therefore it does not feel quite as sturdy in hand as the old one. However the shape has been elongated a bit and this actually probably compensates for the weight issue. All the buttons are within reach of my fingers which is good. One thing I have liked about the xbox controller is the snug fit in my hands. This is unlike sony's six axis controller. Those are obviously made for smaller hands. The sony controllers are much sturdier as I have learnt over the years I have had the play station. They took a lot of beating but came out winning. I don't think I expect same quality from the xbox controllers.  Also I have been getting a taste of Microso...
