Spin

I am at times amazed at the versatility of this universe and the human mind. I am a strong believer in the Kant's ideology of mind and the way it perceives the external. I would like to be sure though and my struggle is in that direction precisely.    There are so many things going on in this world at the same time that for an outside observer it all might just feel like a silent movie played on screen. I was thinking earlier this morning if God were to be an observer to these happenings he must be pretty amused at all these tiny creatures moving here and there and doing all sorts of things on this screen we can call the earth. Must get pretty boring for him too, but I am sure He has more interesting things ready for Him. But then again I don't believe in God of material and matter so all this thought boils down to my own idea of perceiving this world. It is Infact one of my yearnings to sit outside this frame of reference and see things happening ...

Drizzle

Yes the title is taken from that of DrPak's latest post. It is unexpected rain season in this country and I thought we might as well enjoy it by coinciding the posts. Its been drizzling and raining here for the past one hour. But unlike Islamabad the electricity has left to a better place than my home. I have been made a slave of a battery and a notebook. This has not dampened my spirit which feels rejuvenated after the change in weather which is expected to stay another 24 hours. Not my mood but the weather that is. I was taking a survey of the pharmacy market in this city today. I was looking for my mother's inhaler. Only two shops out of 30 odd shops keep that inhaler. Both had the one that was expiring in march 2006. Since my mother is able to use one inhaler for about two months these were of no use to me. When I pointed out the expiry date on the inhaler both pharmacists were quick in offering me a 50% discount on the purchase there and then. That didn't s...

Team Pakistan

Inzimam's team is complacent, pathetic, slack, off-guard and made of crappy individuals. I think his overtly Islamic attitude has turned him into what all most other tableeghis are and that is pathetically complacent and disoriented . He has given this cup to the inexperienced, divided, sloppy, no good Indian camp in a platter covered with gold. If he or his masters in tableeghi jamat think(s) that they he can convert these Indians to their pathetic version of Islam by producing such good will I think they he need(s) to rethink the strategy.    I mean look at Yuvraj Singh or for that matter Dhoni, before coming to Pakistan they were fighting for a place in the squad and they have been turned into gods whom Inzimam and his puppies might as well start worshipping.    All throughout this series he has looked clueless and sloppy. He has obviously no control over his team and can't make the right decisions at the right time. He lacks j...

Post Amazers

I happened to watch this animated programme on our national television network just today. The software production house behind this effort is known as Post Amazers . They are a wholly Pakistani venture into the software production industry. I must say they are doing a great job. The graphics of the animation were pretty good with some good effects. Although the sound dubbing was a little awry but still the production was compatible with any in the world simply for the reason that it was indigenously made.    Actually the programme is called something like Safeguard Commander Safeguard and the idea behind this is to promote cleanliness habits in the young children of the nation. The characters speak in Urdu which makes it comprehensible to a large number of audience around the country. Similarly the situations shown are closer to our social setup although they are purely a fantasy. Still the names of the characters and the places produce a sense ...

The path of violence and destruction that the protests have taken speak volumes for the level of insecurity that Muslim societies feel all over the Muslim world. We feel threatened and intimidated by the West for its belligerent take on our fundamentals, be it human or metaphysical. It can be argued that these feelings of insecurity are mostly in part because of our own discrepancies. the Muslim world is going though radical change and this in the absence of Ijtehad. The doors of Ijtehad that were closed by Ghazali are going to break open with the overwhelming pressure soon.    But there is an equal argument that these feelings of insecurity stem from mischief and sudden over powerment of West that has come about through media. Needless to say of the joy and merriment that every common Pakistani felt over the destruction of WTC stemmed from this feeling of vulnerability. Otherwise someone who doesn't even realize the importance of WTC has no rea...

Competition

If I say that competition is in my bones I wouldn't be wrong in saying that. Quite literally competition is what defines me, you or anyone else in this whole world. The white cells of the body, used for defence against invaders, are a direct product of competition. It is a very tough competition too. We know there are many millions of invaders ready to play havoc with our body all the times. So the body has many millions of diverse and different white cells to teach each and everyone of those invaders a lesson. In order to do so these white cells need to recognize those invading organisms. They do this through cell receptors. These receptors are proteins made by the cell DNA.    Now the competition is that each white cell while undergoing development makes a unique set of proteins which is meant to function as its receptor. Now not all the proteins they make are able to function properly. So the cell is given another chance to make another prot...

Hamas

We have seen how other nations, including the peoples of Vietnam and South Africa, persisted in their struggle until their quest for freedom and justice was accomplished. We are no different, our cause is no less worthy, our determination is no less profound and our patience is no less abundant. Read the full article here . [via Uzer.org ]

I was trying to remain oblivious and aloof from this matter. Rather I was trying not to notice this miserable excuse of an existence life of the west. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. But things seem to have gotten out of hand here. First it was this Danish paper and now there are many across the west who have republished Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) caricature in order to show support for their bastard friends.    This has got to stop. This is in absolute neglect of any sense of responsibility towards a major part of humanity. But I think they are right when they tell me that no one in the west thinks that Muslims are human anyway. Either they think we are not human and thus violate every sensible decency or they are playing an overt mischief with Muslims in unison.    Why can't we unite against them? I call for absolute and complete boycott of every Danish company. Those miserable bastards understand only two lan...
