Word or no word

At times it so happens that words loose their meaning. It so happens that you are reading a case history and it is making no sense at all. The words are trying to tell you that the patient has been sick for a while and has nausea and vomiting and tarry stools and jaundice and purpura but nothing adds up in your mind. This is the time of the mind block. I am going through one of those times when the mind is effectively under a block. One tends to read through cases and try solve the questions but nothing adds up. The worst thing is that one doesn't even remember anything new. All the reading is lost and there is nothing but chaos. Total chaos.
Trying to concentrate is hard these days. It is one pleasure that I am not able to enjoy in its full force. The condition has been such that I have not been able to enjoy for quite sometime. But come what may I have faith. I have faith that things will change for the better. Infact I am being a little unthankful when I say that I have not been rewarded for my patience. It has never been the case. Of late I have been relieved by my visa approval and I might not mention it or take it in a stride but those who are following my professional ideology know that getting the visa is a gamble in itself and those who succeed to get it in time are no less fortunate.
Pray that I am able to apply my self in a better way and am able to make use of the time that I have at my disposal properly. Pray that I am able to concentrate on my studies and that I am able to understand what words are trying to tell me.

iPad 2

The new iPad is worth it's money. Sleek slender design is a plus and so is the light weight. I am not really impressed by the camera as the pictures with both front and back cameras are pixelated and very amateurish looking. It's handy in the sense that I can carry it around while making rounds and access patient information on the go. This makes life easier and for someone like myself this means much less paper waste. I think one added advantage is that I will waste less time on writing down all the information on a piece of paper every morning and will be able to pull it up anytime I want to do so or need to do so. This gives me more time to think and reflect on the patient and spend more time with the patient rather than time in front of a bulky computer. There are new apps I am discovering every day. Elections '08

Parliamentary Elections are just 12 hours away in Pakistan. Unlike all previous elections i have reached the voting age for these elections. Now i can use my right to vote to select a candidate that i think represents future and progress. I can be part of the democratic process. I can be a miniature vector of change or towards change. But i will not use my right to vote. that means i will not participate in the process of electing representatives who will rule my country and my fate for the next five years, even more if they get their way like this present dictator, Musharraf.
