Elections '08

Parliamentary Elections are just 12 hours away in Pakistan. Unlike all previous elections i have reached the voting age for these elections. Now i can use my right to vote to select a candidate that i think represents future and progress. I can be part of the democratic process. I can be a miniature vector of change or towards change. But i will not use my right to vote. that means i will not participate in the process of electing representatives who will rule my country and my fate for the next five years, even more if they get their way like this present dictator, Musharraf. In doing so i will loose my right to object to any actions of the 'elected', more so selected representatives of this country. but this can be debated and in most probability i will not pass from any opportunity to pointing out wrong doings and mischief in the character of those who lead my unfortunate country in the future.
I will not vote because i know the outcomes of the elections have been pre determined. The electoral process is so deeply biased and flawed that the dictator will win. He has all his odds against me. Me and my idealistic approach has no chance of winning. Afterall he is a soldier at war with his own people and i a mere civilian. I will also not vote because no candidate in my constituency is worth voting for. I will not vote because i want to say no to a repressing rule by a feudal after feudal in my city. I am servant to no one and i pledge allegiance to no crony. I will not vote because none of the parties contesting the elections have any solid manifesto. The only manifesto that i see is usurping of power. I will not vote because no candidate in my constituency has ever talked about their party manifesto, most probably because, they have no idea what it is. I will not vote because no elections under the present leadership can be fair and free.
I have read Musharraf's statements and i am not disappointed. He is a dictator, a ruthless one. He knows no justice. He knows no good for the country. He has no love for the country. It is somewhat surprising for me that the leader of our armed forces have no love for the country. If Musharraf is given a chance he will choose to get an American or British passport for himself and his children. God knows if his son has not already applied for one. This is just a little surprising for me that the leader of our armed forces be inclined towards living his life in any other country. My case in point his bungalow in Turkey. This only shows the level of disintegration in our armed forces. The level of loyalty that our army officers profess to possess in huge quantities. By this scale one should not be disappointed if 99% of the population in the country actually wants to defect to any other country. After all the leader of the armed forces will be willing to do it again and again and again.
The shameless dictator has declared PML-Q and MQM winners of the elections that are still 12 hours away. He knows the results before the process has even begun. This is a testimony to the amount and scale of pre poll rigging that has been perpetrated by the dictator and PML-Q+MQM.
My country has been kidnapped by the dictator and his cronies. My vote in these circumstances will not alleviate the pathology. I have to work in different ways to cull this evil. All of us have to work together to dismember the setup of the dictator. I am not ready to pay any ransom to the kidnapper but i am ready to fight in my own way. I am ready to protest in my own way. I am ready to bring change in my own peaceful way. I am ready to stand for the truth. I am ready to get my country back because it is my country and it is our country.

Learning Arduino 1

This holiday season I decided to gift myself some basic electrical components in the form of a Arduino UNO set from Elegoo. I have always had a desire to tinker with electronics and in gifting myself this basic set I am now starting on a journey to quench my inner electrical workman's thirst. I hope to develop this hobby as I move forward and will, from time to time, post about it here on the blog. As the journey moves forward I am sure to run into trouble and issues. But as they say you can not master anything without first being a fool at it, so I have decided to remain a fool at it until I am a little good at it. To start with, I do possess some elementary knowledge in electronics and electronic circuits. I intend to further my knowledge using the world wide web and following some very useful video channels on youtube. I will first start with some very basic projects to familiarize myself with Arduino and basic electronic circuits and techniques such as soldering. Then graduall...

XBOX ONE controller

I have been using the new xbox for many days now. The most important part of the console is obviously it's controller as this is the part we interact with most. In comparison to the xbox 360 controller the build quality of this controller seems slightly compromised. There is little counter weight in the wings of this controller and therefore it does not feel quite as sturdy in hand as the old one. However the shape has been elongated a bit and this actually probably compensates for the weight issue. All the buttons are within reach of my fingers which is good. One thing I have liked about the xbox controller is the snug fit in my hands. This is unlike sony's six axis controller. Those are obviously made for smaller hands. The sony controllers are much sturdier as I have learnt over the years I have had the play station. They took a lot of beating but came out winning. I don't think I expect same quality from the xbox controllers.  Also I have been getting a taste of Microso...

Xbox ONE

I have recently purchased the newest version of Microsoft's gaming consoles, the Xbox One . This is a shift from my prior gaming system which was Sony's PS3 . I loved PS3 and preferred it over Xbox 360 for many reasons. It was smarter looking, faster, could play Blu rays, good games and all my friends had PS3s. However the most like able thing about it was the free online game play that Microsoft does not allow. Things I did not appreciate in Sony were its user interface. The move bundle was a waste of money for all intent and purposes as I used it once in the past two years. So this time around I decided to go with Microsoft's game console. The decision was not easy. Obviously PS4 has some good press out there and it is a step forward in technology. However now Xbox can play blu rays too. Also now both consoles require a subscription service for online game play. This sort of made me feel like Sony didn't care for us anymore. I guess paying money might mean better e...
