Musharraf seems to have lost it completely. His recent outburst at a journalist, in UK, did not serve him any better. With every passing day he seems to be more and more arrogant in his approach towards his countrymen. His words reek of disgust towards the very people he is supposed to lead. These are, but clear indications that he now fully realizes that he has lost all support in the Pakistani public. All that he wants to do now is usurp and plunder as many resources as he can before he becomes a victim of his own atrocities.
I wonder why do we forget that all the money that we collect so diligently in our life is not going to go anywhere once we have breathed our last. Afterlife or no afterlife nothing that we have in this world, either physical or emotional, is going to matter once we are dead. What is then, all this struggle for? Maybe i wouldn't say the same if i had all that power and money in my hand! But maybe!
Our dictator is a rich man, he owns (or at least he thinks) the whole country and the 'bloody civilians' living in it. What more does he want? He should learn something from the past dictators of this country. Zia was as ruthless as Musharraf (if we compensate for the different eras). When he died, in the plane crash, a jaw was found from his plane wreckage which was presumed to be Zia's. That jaw was buried in all pomp and show in the capital of our country, near the famous Faisal Mosque. All that is left of Zia is the name of the intersection close to his grave which has been named 'Jabra Chowk' (Jaw stop/intersection). I think our current dictator wants an intersection or two named after his body part or two.
