That is the name I have given to the playlist that runs while I am studying. It is exactly 4 hours 2 minutes and 40 seconds long. The time that I am studying for in the morning shift. It is the same playlist that plays everyday non stop to provide a useful environment while I am going full throttle on my daily quota of USMLE prep material. Since rock and roll was the corner stone of my life in the university hostel the list starts with a number by Guns and Roses where they are 'Knocking on the heaven's door'. Although I have this song by every great singer who has sung it but I particularly like the one by this group. This sets the pace for the day elevates the mood and gives me five good minutes to finish my coffee cup. By this time The Doors come into play with their 'Roadhouse Blues', 'Love street', 'Spanish Caravan' (my personal favourite for a long time), LA Woman and Riders on the storm. About 20 odd minutes of true rock it is about time to sullen my mood with Anathema. Their singular number on my list is 'Lost control'. Aerosmith deserves more space on my list than it gets. The preamble to 'Taste of India' plays for exactly 52 seconds of a minute. Avril Lavigne gets to play her famous number 'Complicated' for me and that I think is more than sufficient from her. Ashlee Simpson goes on with her 'Pieces of me' but fails to impress. This is the time when I am deep into my study and hardly notice these songs. To improve the scene is Bon Jovi with his great number 'Two story town'. To follow him is Coldplay. He has two numbers on my list and both my favourites. The acoustic version of 'The Scientist' and the live version of 'See you soon'. He deserves his own solo playlist. I have always found his numbers solid and worth listening to. At about this time I need to remind myself that my struggle is just a part of a greater picture so Colin Hay gets an entry with 'Waiting for my real life to begin'. Dave Matthews Band is next with their two numbers 'Satellite' and 'Space Between'. Right in the middle of the playlist is a song that is the best of them all. Ali will certainly commend the inclusion of this number in the list. Del Amitri goes on with 'Tell her this'. Dido gets her shot with 'Hear with me'. My personal favourite band is after her and its Dire Straits. They get to play two numbers 'Lady writer' and 'So far away'. The legend Elvis sings 'I can't help falling in love with you'. Enrique follows with his 'Don't turn off the lights'. Francis Dunnery reminds me about 'Good life'. Another of my favourite numbers that I listened to on the local radio for the first time about a year ago comes next. ITs Green Day with 'Boulevard of broken dreams'. This song has the distinct honour of playing on my desktop for days at end in my last AKU days. Simply beautiful. By this time I need some dose of rock and roll and this relief is provided by Guns and Roses with their 'Rocket Queen'. Jet clears his throat before getting on to say 'Are you gonna be my girl'. Jimi Hendrix with his groovy 'Purple Haze' spreads the rhythm divine. John Lennon is a true legend and is truly imaginative with his 'Imagine all the people'. His song is ever mysterious to me as it was for everyone before me. There is actually a whole story behind the true meaning of this song that you can read if you take some time to browse for it. Lifehouse is another of my personal favourites. With their hard on the drums but smooth 'We'll never know'. Fawad introduced me to Neil Diamond when he brought an album from the collection of his father. I have ever since listened to him again and again. He is there with 'You'll be a woman soon' and 'Solitary man'. Nina Simone sings 'sinnerman' for ten long minutes but not a single minute is boring. Love for Oasis is shared by Junaid. They have two numbers on my list. 'Champagne Supernova' and the other being an excellent composition by Noel Gallagher called 'Wonderwall'. Some one sings 'out there' but I have never bothered to find out who. RHCP made some very cool videos of their songs and are on my playlist with 'Californication'. Roy Orbson is someone I have not listened to except for the number 'Pretty woman'. I don't wish Roxette 'Sleeping in my car'. Savage Garden sing songs of 'Affirmation' and Sting goes on with his 'Desert rose'. He then teams up with The Police to find out 'Every step I take'. The Corrs' lady lovable sings a live number with Bono from U2. The melodious Irish song 'Summer wine'. The verve has a touch of 'Bitter sweet symphony'. Then you can find 'Kryptonite' Three Doors Down the playlist. Theme song from Top Gun 'Take(s) my breath away'. Travis talk about 'Flowers in the window'. U2 sing the 'Unchained melody' and 'All I want is you'. An unplugged version of 'Everybody hurts' comes at the end of the playlist by The Corrs. Ronan Keating sings 'I hope you dance'. Aerosmith makes a final come back with 'Pink' and Hoobestank have 'The reason'. Pakistani Rock by Noori in the form of 'Nishaan' and 'Mein' tells me that its been exactly 4 hours 2 minutes and 40 seconds since I settled on my
This holiday season I decided to gift myself some basic electrical components in the form of a Arduino UNO set from Elegoo. I have always had a desire to tinker with electronics and in gifting myself this basic set I am now starting on a journey to quench my inner electrical workman's thirst. I hope to develop this hobby as I move forward and will, from time to time, post about it here on the blog. As the journey moves forward I am sure to run into trouble and issues. But as they say you can not master anything without first being a fool at it, so I have decided to remain a fool at it until I am a little good at it. To start with, I do possess some elementary knowledge in electronics and electronic circuits. I intend to further my knowledge using the world wide web and following some very useful video channels on youtube. I will first start with some very basic projects to familiarize myself with Arduino and basic electronic circuits and techniques such as soldering. Then graduall...
