Toyota Camry

Motor Trend has named the redesigned Toyota Camry as its car of the year.

The Toyota Camry bested a field of 27 competitors, comprising six models
from the U.S., 10 from Japan, five from Korea, four from Germany, one from the
U.K., and one from Sweden.
To be eligible for Car of the Year, a vehicle must
be totally new or redesigned, and released in the 12 months prior to January 1,
2007 (cars with modifications such as new engines or that are variants of
existing models are not eligible).
This year's field of contenders for Car of
the Year included:Chevrolet Aveo, Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Caliber, Honda Fit,
Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Entourage, Infiniti G35, Jaguar XK, Jeep Compass, Kia
Optima, Kia Rondo, Kia Sedona, Lexus ES 350, Lexus LS 460, Mercedes Benz
S-Class, Nissan Altima, Nissan Sentra, Nissan Versa, Porsche Cayman, Saturn
Aura, Saturn Sky Redline, Suzuki SX4, Toyota Camry, Toyota Yaris, Volvo C70 T5,
Volkswagen EOS, and Volkswagen Rabbit

The question is if they are right in telling us that Camry is indeed the best car to buy this year. The looks on the car are good. It has an lucrative interior and imposing posterior yet it is efficient in consuming fuel. So much so that it has EPA rating of 40mpg in the city for the hybrid version. The price tag is reasonable too at 18,000 for the CE and 26,000 for the Hybrid class.
I like the looks and the standard features that are provided in the car which include remote entry and start, side torso airbags, knee airbags and side-curtain airbags. The car has been rated satisfactory on the safety standard tests. This means i will have to go and buy this car now. so off i go...

Learning Arduino 1

This holiday season I decided to gift myself some basic electrical components in the form of a Arduino UNO set from Elegoo. I have always had a desire to tinker with electronics and in gifting myself this basic set I am now starting on a journey to quench my inner electrical workman's thirst. I hope to develop this hobby as I move forward and will, from time to time, post about it here on the blog. As the journey moves forward I am sure to run into trouble and issues. But as they say you can not master anything without first being a fool at it, so I have decided to remain a fool at it until I am a little good at it. To start with, I do possess some elementary knowledge in electronics and electronic circuits. I intend to further my knowledge using the world wide web and following some very useful video channels on youtube. I will first start with some very basic projects to familiarize myself with Arduino and basic electronic circuits and techniques such as soldering. Then graduall...

Elections 08 V

In the election results of the year 33 former ministers who were closely associated with Musharraf have lost their seats. PML-Q has suffered losses to the seats of those who were stalwarts of the previous administration and were thought to be close to Musharraf himself. the results express more so a disgust and hatred with Musharraf and anything even closely related to him. Otherwise PML-Q has been able to win seats of those members who were not closely associated with Musharraf. So we can safely conclude that this is a an anti Musharraf vote and not a pro PPP or PML-N or ANP vote. In other news the Govt. is now thinking of letting go of the Chief Justice of Pakistan who has been kept under illegal house arrest since November 3, 2007. Aitizaz Ahsan was freed not until the last minutes before election and now Chief Justice's imminent freedom spell something very fishy. What was so important about him that he was not released before elections? What special situation has arise...

The Hajj Tragedy Replayed

This year again as for the past 6 years or so hujjaj have died in massive numbers while performing the ritual at Minaa . From what the state television is telling us here in Pakistan the number of dead is as high as 345 souls. Most of them are reported to be from south east Asia. Every year a variable but significantly large number of hujjaj die while performing the hajj . It is undoubtedly the largest gathering of souls on the planet earth. This time around as many as 25 million Muslims from all over the world performed the hajj . This is a large number and the figure of the dead can easily be taken for a small negligible percentage which is bound to occur in any such event with so many people from different social setups and languages gather and are bound by very tight schedules. But this certainly can't be allowed in a religion that is based on harmony, peace, value for human life and most of all discipline.    Most certainly the Saudi author...
